| look at those parrot tulips...they're screaming for attention |
i try to use the same approach with flowers as i would food - incorporating fresh, seasonal elements to create a thoughtful and natural design. i used one of my favorite fall flowers, the cafe au lait dahlia, for its ability to capture so many of fall's muted hues -- cream, orange, mocha, pink, peach. and the tree peonies's color and to-die-for wine/yellow center was too hard to resist...they were the perfect bold complement to the more subtly-colored flowers. i love shape and texture, so each element gets a chance to stand out. all reminiscent of a lush, bountiful autumn garden.
i had so much fun on this shoot. thanks so much jillian, scott, sarah, sooz and lindsay. and yes, i totally ate not one, but two, whoopie pies. could go for another right now...yum! x
